Hop Inn Hotel at North Avenue Review
Budget Hotel steps away from an MRT Station, near Landmark TriNoMa and SM North in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines
I reviewed and stayed in three Hop Inn Hotels last year where I shared my opinion on its affordability, amenities and accessibility. This year, I stayed at the newly opened Hop Inn North EDSA in Quezon City which is just steps away from the North EDSA MRT Station. I loved staying there so much that the receptionists, housekeeping and security recall my face already. In this post, I’ll share with you why I am a frequent guest at that Hop Inn branch in the Philippines.
Steps Away from MRT in front of TriNoMa
I had a hard time walking to and fro any public transportation hub when I stayed in Hop Inn Ortigas, MOA and Tomas Morato. This year, Hop Inn added another hotel which is literally steps away from a Metro Railway Transportation (MRT) system and I love it! Once you leave the hotel, just turn right and you’ll see the stairs going up the MRT North Avenue Station. From that station, I can go to Mandaluyong, Makati and Pasay Cities without being stuck in traffic. If I want to go other places, I can trek to SM North Mall transit hub or find another MRT stop to go to other provincial or city hubs. Moreover, it is just across Landmark TriNoMa mall where I can shop, dine and more.
Improvements and Updates
I shared that I slipped twice after taking a bath in other Hop Inn Hotels before. Well, look at the bathroom picture I shared in my previous post, the see-through shower stall wall only covered half of it. Look at the picture of the bathroom in this post, the see-through wall covers the whole shower stall which made taking showers safer and slip-free, at least for me. In addition:
instead of bottle water, they provided two glasses and a hot-and-cold water station outside
they do not line trash cans with plastic anymore - housekeeping said it is part of being eco-friendly
they will not clean your room daily unless you request it
they still do not provide amenities like shampoos, coffee and tea
price is still affordable - as of this writing, it is PhP 1,040 per night or $18

Personal Hacks
Personally, I do not like using drinking glasses for my tea so I bought disposable cups from the nearby mall. To minimize going out in the hallway, I fill two cups with hot water and then fill my trusty water bottle with cold water. Moreover, I found out that I can ask the receptionist to put stuff in a common refrigerator when I happen to see a buy-one-take-one keto ice cream pint. They graciously put one in their fridge which I enjoyed the following day. In the meantime, if you are in the Philippines during a typhoon, check my next post about lessons I learned that may be useful to Balikbayans and foreigners.
